Title: Manasseh Cutler letter to Rufus Putnam

Description: Letter written at Ipswich, Massachusetts, to Rufus Putnam, with a party of men near Carlisle, Pennsylvannia en route to the Ohio Country. Cutler comments on "Mr. Plummer's" account of the area around Pittsburgh, but he has not been down the Ohio River. The letter reports on sales of shares in the Ohio Company (1786-1796). Cutler wants to be informed whether it will be prudent for families to move to Ohio in the spring and summer, He mentions that the Massachusetts Convention has adopted the federal constitution.
