Description: Addressing the Indians northwest of the Ohio River, Putnam refers to messages that both he and President Washington have sent to the tribes and to which they have received no replies. He wants some of the Indians' "Wise Men" to meet him at the mouth of the Muskingum, "that we may see one another and speak together."
