dc.description Putnam, in the absence of Governor St. Clair, suggests that the militia guards at all stations may be dispensed with, and that a few spies or scouts will afford protection against the small parties of Indians that will doubtless continue to infect the settlements. He goes into considerable detail for posting the scouts. en_US
