Title: Rufus Putnam draft letter to Ebenezer Sproat
Author: Putnam, Rufus, 1738-1824
Description: Putnam, in the absence of Governor St. Clair, suggests that the militia guards at all stations may be dispensed with, and that a few spies or scouts will afford protection against the small parties of Indians that will doubtless continue to infect the settlements. He goes into considerable detail for posting the scouts.
