| dc.description | Ebenezer Sproat, veteran of the Revolution and owner of two shares in the Ohio Company of Associates, arrived in Marietta, Ohio, with the first party of settlers in 1788. Until 1791, he was a surveyor for the Company, and at the same time was sheriff of Washington County. This book of field notes records surveys of the north and west boundaries of township 8 in federal survey range 12, township 7 in federal survey range 13, township 11 in federal survey range 14, and township 13 in federal survey range 15. | en_US |
