| dc.description | The Ohio Company paid for the "second purchase" of 214,285 acres with warrants issued by the federal government for military service. This register arranged by agents gives the names of the officers or soldiers whose warrants the Directors paid into the U.S. Treasury, the rank of each, the line of the army in which he served, the number of acres to which he was entitled, and the number of each warrant. The names on the warrants may or may not be those of proprietors, for warrants were sometimes purchased for investment in the Ohio Company.
